This FAQ item will help you install and configure the KioWare for Android Kiosk App App Pinning.

Prepare tablet

Configure your tablet to prepare Kiosk mode

Open Settings on your tablet and depending on the brand, follow these steps:

  • Google: Settings > System > About phone > Build number
  • Samsung: Settings > About phone > Software information > Build number
  • LG: Settings > About phone > Software info > Build number
  • HTC: Settings > About > Software information > More > Build number

Tap 7 times on the Build number and then you will see a message to indicate that Developer options have been enabled.

In the main navigation of the Settings app, you will now find an extra option called Developer options. Tap on Developer options and enable Stay awake (Screen will never sleep while charging).

Enable Android Single App Mode

Open Settings on your tablet and go to Security & location -> Screen lock and set this setting to pin.

Next, in Settings under Security & location go to Screen pinning and turn this feature on. Select Ask for PIN before unpinning and select Don’t show notifications at all:

Now, go to the home screen and start the Vizito app and tap on the app switcher icon:

Tap on the pin in the bottom right corner of the Vizito app to start ‘pinning’ the Vizito app.

Disable App Pinning

To stop pinning apps, tap & hold Back and Overview buttons until the lock screen is displayed. Provide your pincode to unlock the device and App Pinning is disabled.
